UH’s Ilagan wins Big West tennis honor
Jan. 19 – Hawaii senior Andre Ilagan was named the Big West Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Hawaii senior Andre Ilagan was named the Big West Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.
Ilagan, ranked No. 41 in the nation, beat No. 84-ranked Duke’s Pedro Rodenas 6-1, 6-4 on Jan. 9. During the week, Ilagan also lost to the No. 12 and No. 4 ranked players.
Farrington High graduate Ilagan and doubles partner Karl Collins went 2-1.
He has won the weekly Big West award seven times during his career.
