Texas Football Welcomes Visiting UGA WR Transfer Adonai Mitchell Today
Mitchell is clearly the biggest transfer gate target for the Longhorns right now. He was the type of wide the Longhorns have been waiting to enter the portal for the past six weeks or so. Mitchell could be an immediate impact pick-up if he ends up landing on Forty Acres on his next stop out of the gate.
Additionally, Mitchell will still have at least two more years of eligibility at his next out-of-gate destination. He spent two seasons playing for Georgia, where he recorded 38 receptions for 560 receiving yards (14.7 receiving yards) and seven receiving touchdowns.
Mitchell missed most of the 2022 campaign for Georgia as he suffered a lower-body injury for much of last fall. But he got a few targets in Georgia’s college football playoffs this season, including a few touchdowns in every game against the Ohio State Buckeyes and TCU Horned Frogs, respectively.
If Texas is able to pull off a portal commitment from Mitchell, he would be the fourth addition via the transfer market for Sark and his staff in the Class of 2023. Mitchell would also be the Longhorns’ first portal addition at receiver. off this offseason.
