‘Spy x Family’ Anime Confirms Second Season And Original Movie Written By Creator Tatsuya Endo For 2023

Of the many early gifts Shueisha presented to fans at last year’s Jump Festa, one of the most significant was undoubtedly the announcement that the activation order had been given to both a second season of the Spy x Family anime as well as a cinematic release written by the original manga. creator Tatsuya Endo.

These two new missions were revealed via a brief trailer released towards the end of Jump Super Stage’s Spy x Family presentation by series voice actors Takuya Eguchi (CV: Lloyd Forger), Atsumi Tanezaki (CV: Anya Forger) , Saori Hayami (CV; Yor Forger), and Kenichiro Matsuda (CV: Bond the dog).

While the anime will continue to adapt the Spy x Family manga, the film will feature an original story written by Endo, although at the time of writing it is unknown whether its events will be canonical or not. The mangaka will also be one of the producers of Spy x Family: The Movie, as well as its character designer.

Additionally, the presentation confirmed that Spy x Family season 2 and Spy x Family The Movie are currently set to release later in 2023.

Following the movie’s announcement, Endo unveiled new commemorative artwork depicting the Forger family, with Lloyd at the helm and Anya holding a bucket of popcorn, steering a plane on their next harrowing mission.

In a New Year’s post provided alongside his new cartoon, Endo recalled how (via DeepL) “luckily this year has brought a lot of excitement to my work through anime. It was a year that went by so quickly, with so many things that I don’t even understand myself.

“I’ve seen the Forger family often around town and on television, and even though I looked at it like it was something else, I’m very happy to be able to feel it a little more,” he continued. “Once again, I want to thank the production team, the voice actors, everyone involved in the animation, and all the readers and viewers who support the work.”

“There will be a second anime season in 2023, as well as a movie,” the mangaka then reiterated. “So I hope the anime will gain even more momentum in the future.”
