Adam Fox and Artemi Panarin Heading to NHL All-Star Game

The National Hockey League today announced that New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox and forward Artemi Panarin have been added to the 2023 NHL All-Star Game in South Florida as part of the fan vote. of the stars, joining goaltender Igor Shesterkin.

The Blueshirts have three All-Star Game selections for the second consecutive season (2021-22: Kreider, Zibanejad, Fox) and the third time since 2011-12.

Fox was named to the All-Star Game for a second consecutive season, but will be looking to enter the event for the first time in his career.

In 45 games this season, Fox has posted nine goals and 36 assists for 45 points and a plus-19 rating. Among NHL defensemen, Fox is tied for third in assists, fourth in points, seventh in goals, tied for first in game-winning goals (4) and third in take-out meals (41). Fox has recorded a point in 31 of 45 games this season (68.9%) and 10 multi-point games. The Blueshirts are 10-0-0 when Fox scores two or more runs.

The native of Jericho, New York, has 33 goals and 175 assists for 208 points in 248 career NHL games. Since 2019-20, Fox has had the second-most assists of any NHL defenseman and the fifth-most points. Fox’s 175 assists are the second most assists (tied) in the first four career seasons by an NHL player in Rangers history. Following the 2020-21 season, Fox won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s top defenseman.

Panarin was selected for his second All-Star Game of his career. He earned his first honor in 2019-20 but missed the event due to injury. The 31-year-old forward leads the Rangers with 47 points (12G-35A) and ranks second on the team in assists. His assists are tied for 10th in the NHL and tied for second in the Metropolitan Division. Additionally, Panarin has a team record tying 11 multi-point games this season.

In 553 career NHL games between the Rangers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks, Panarin had 199 goals and 417 assists for 616 points. Since his debut in 2015-16, Panarin ranks third in the NHL in assists, fourth in points and seventh in multi-point games (169).
