Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2020) gets Android 13 One UI 5.0 update

Last update: January 19, 2023 at 18:04 UTC+01:00

It’s been over a month since the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 refresh received Android 13, and the original model is now catching up. Android 13 One UI 5.0 update is now available for Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE 2020.

For now, availability appears to be limited to the LTE model (SM-P615), but the Wi-Fi version (SM-P610) shouldn’t be too far behind. Even for the LTE model, the update is only available in France so far. But again, it is likely that more countries in Europe and other continents will get One UI 5.0 soon.

Improving the experience of a 2.5 year old Galaxy tablet

One UI 5.0 brings a new taskbar to Galaxy tablets. It improves multitasking and enables a more desktop-like experience for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The same goes for the new multi-window gestures, which make split-screen a breeze and a more integral part of the user experience.

Other goodies include better animations for the recent apps screen, a new “Connected devices” section in the Settings app, an updated lock screen customization menu, and better overall performance thanks to the optimization.

By the way, One UI 5.0 firmware update for Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with November 2022 security patch. The update carries firmware version P615XXU4FWA5.

Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE (2020) users in Europe – or at least France – should be able to download the update through the Settings app once they go to “Software update” and tap “Download and install”. SamMobile readers who prefer manual updates via PC can download the official firmware from our website.
