OGGF Launches Girls Golf Clinics Series

Living in northeast Ohio, we have to work a little harder to maintain our passion for golf year-round. But with the growing number of local indoor facilities, the opportunities are growing, and so is the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation (OGGF).

To help girls prepare for the season, this non-profit organization has added winter clinics to accompany its annual lineup of spring clinics to help girls learn, compete and succeed. Girls ages 8 to 18, from beginner to advanced, can start playing golf early at these winter and spring clinics, held at various locations across the state.

Teaching clinics led by PGA and LPGA instructors are designed to inform, educate and expand girls’ knowledge in all aspects of golf, from full swing to short game to putting. The deadline to register is one week before the start date of the clinic.

Winter clinics will be held at the following locations from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., except Judd’s Golf Sim, which is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $20 per session.

Girls who attend these winter clinics, as well as the spring clinics scheduled for April and May on outdoor golf courses, will have the opportunity to continue working on their skills through one-to-one or small private lessons. groups as part of OGGF’s continuing education program, which is partially funded by the Foundation.

The mission of the foundation is to encourage, sponsor and support the game of golf for girls by providing college scholarships, golf instruction programs and financial assistance to attend designated golf tournaments. Since the Foundation was established in 1994, over 1,000 girls have attended our clinics and we have awarded over 140 scholarships.
