Apex Legends Mobile players slam EA for denying refunds

Following the announcement of the Apex Legends Mobile shutdown, the community was furious to learn that EA would not refund in-game purchases.
Apex Legends Mobile brought the fun of Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale title to handheld devices, and this version of the game featured content like exclusive characters and a solo playlist.
While it initially looked like this title would be the flagship mobile game for EA and Respawn Entertainment, it has been confirmed that Apex Legends Mobile is being shut down. They also revealed details about the cancellation.
After this announcement, the developers confirmed that despite the game being canceled, Apex Legends Mobile players will not be refunded for any in-game purchases they have made.
“Apex Legends Mobile has started to fall below this bar in terms of quality, quantity and pace. It is for this reason, after months of working with our development partner, that we have made the mutual decision to end our mobile game.
No refunds will be given for purchases.

The fact that players won’t receive a refund hasn’t gone down well with the community, and many users have expressed their disappointment with the developers for this decision in the Apex Legends subreddit.
In a thread about the announcement, a Reddit user commented, “The fact that they are not offering a refund on their failed product really highlights their greed and lack of love for us gamers. ” Another player said: “I think whoever poured money into [Apex Legends Mobile].”
Some gamers have pointed out that Epic Games is allowing anyone who has played Rumbleverse to get a full refund while the game is shut down, which shows a contrast. There was a feeling in the thread that “closing within a year should be a partial refund by law.”
The community is demanding that developers give refunds to players, with one user commenting: “I don’t care about the game stopping or anything, but they should at least do something for the people who have actually paid money into [Apex Legends] Mobile.”
As of this writing, it remains to be seen whether EA and Respawn Entertainment plan to address these complaints. We will continue to check developments on this and let you know as soon as anything changes.
