Martina Navratilova has posted an update after being diagnosed with two forms of cancer. Last month, the tennis icon revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in her life in addition to having throat cancer. The 18-time Major winner is now ‘eye-catching’ as she undergoes treatment.

Navratilova revealed her cancer diagnosis last month – 13 years after she was given the green light of breast cancer after radiation therapy. The 66-year-old discovered a swollen lymph node in her neck in November and last month told fans that breast cancer had returned alongside throat cancer.

“This double whammy is serious but still reparable. I hope for a favorable outcome. It’s gonna stink for a while but I’m gonna fight with everything I’ve got,” she said, later adding, “Needless to say my phone and Twitter are both blowing up so I’ll say it again – thank you all for your support and I’m not done yet.”

Navratilova has now shared a brief update following a message from a concerned fan after starting treatment last month. “How are you @Martina? Remember, nothing can beat you,” a fan asked the retired former world No. 1 on Tuesday, replying, “Hold on, thank you :)”.

“At the same time as Martina was undergoing the throat tests, a suspicious form was found in her breast, which was later diagnosed as cancer, unrelated to throat cancer. Both of these cancers are in their early stages. with excellent results.

The record-breaking 167-time singles title winner had previously been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 after undergoing a routine mammogram in January of that year. The following month she was informed that she had ductal carcinoma in situ in her left breast and she announced that she was being treated on April 7. The tumor was surgically removed in March before she began receiving radiotherapy in May.
