2023 NASCAR Clash at The Coliseum Odds, Picks & Betting Predictions

Indeed, the eventual Cup Series champion opened his campaign with victory in the Clash at the Coliseum, a no-points race held on a quarter-mile asphalt track laid out inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Last season’s inaugural event was quite a spectacle, with 384 assists in the 150-lap main event, and Logano passing Kyle Busch with 35 to go. It also turned out to be a taster: of the top 11, eight will make it to the end-of-season playoffs.
So it’s perhaps no surprise that Logano and Chase Elliott are NASCAR +750 betting co-odds favorites to win in Los Angeles on Sunday night, with Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell just behind at +800.
You have to go down 12 spots on the NASCAR odds board, to Martin Truex Jr. at +1200, to find a driver who wasn’t in the playoffs last season. And with a year of experience under its belt in the next-gen car, don’t be surprised to see that trend repeating itself in Los Angeles this weekend.

2023 Clash at the Coliseum Betting Predictions
For all the passes in the peloton in last year’s inaugural event, there were only four up front. The only drivers to lead were Tyler Reddick, Logano and Busch, who started second, first and fourth respectively.
This would seem to indicate that starting position is key to supporting a potential winner, so keep an eye out for the four heat races scheduled for Sunday afternoon which will determine the bulk of the 27-car field.
But even considering that, bettors have little history to rely on, given that last season’s Clash marked NASCAR’s first race at a quarter-mile track since 1971.

Backing a rider with a track record of short track success would seem the most natural decision, especially in light of the fact that Logano and Busch (with 23 short track wins between them) dominated last year’s race. And watch out for riders like Larson and Bell who come from quarter-mile midget races, considering they both finished in the top eight a year ago.
Given that the teams are using the same car as last year, this event isn’t quite the complete guessing game it was in 2022, when NASCAR debuted an all-new vehicle (with most parts manufactured by common manufacturers) for an all-new exhibition race.
Again, expect plenty of wing-to-wing racing in the peloton, while a few elite riders decide the outcome among themselves up front.
