AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D launches February 28th, costs $699
Launch of the first AMD Ryzen 7000X3D processors on February 28
AMD has confirmed the launch date and price for its Ryzen 7000X3D series.
The company reveals that its flagship 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X3D will cost as much as the “original” 16-core Ryzen 9 7950X Zen4 at launch, which is $699. This processor will launch alongside Ryzen 9 7900X3D, which is a 12-core version on February 28. AMD has priced this model at $599, which is $50 more than what the 7900X was at launch.
These Ryzen 9 X3D processors will be followed by the 8-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D model on April 6th. According to AMD, this CPU will retail for $449, which is actually more than the recently announced non-X Ryzen 9 7900 ($429).
All three processors feature an increased 3D V-Cache, which is claimed to deliver better gaming performance across the stack. The flagship model was demonstrated by AMD beating the 24-core Intel Core i9-13900K processor in games.
The new introductory prices for the Ryzen 7000X3D ensure that the 7000X series will not return to the original price. In fact, all the prices listed below are already much lower on a retail market (Amazon):
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X is currently $589 AMD Ryzen 9 7900X is currently $419 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X is currently $345
All three models come with the free Star Wars Jedi Survivor game code. It is not clear if the 7000X3D series will also be included in this promotion.
