Super Nintendo World’s Mario Kart Ride Only Accepts Thin People

According to the official Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge page, an elaborate “3D and 4D ride,” the single-user ride takes participants through a variety of Mario-themed settings brought to life by “advanced technology.” During the ride, you’ll team up individually or collectively to foil Team Bowser’s plans to grab that golden cup before Mario and his friends do. But as the Wall Street Journal observed in an article highlighting the weight limit requirements (which can be found on the official app for park navigation and line management), “guests whose turn of size is at least 40” or larger may not be accommodated on the ride. .” The copy of the application indicates that a test seat is available to assess whether or not a participant meets these requirements. Given that the average waistline in the United States is around 40 inches, that certainly seems to rule out a fair number of people.

The waistline requirement particularly stings because Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is the only ride to be featured at Super Nintendo World, but it’s not designed to fit the physical dimensions of participants of average height or taller.
