Speedway Children’s Charities, Dover Motor Speedway chapter, makes first donations to Delaware charitable groups

The Speedway Children’s Charities chapter, Dover Motor Speedway, donated $15,000 to three Delaware entities that focus on the health, safety, well-being and development of children.

The goal of the Speedway Children’s Charities Chapter, Dover Motor Speedway is to raise funds for Delaware and mid-Atlantic based non-profit organizations, with a focus on helping Delaware children.

Today and Tuesday, January 31, the following organizations received checks for $5,000 in the name of Speedway Children’s Charities, Dover Motor Speedway Chapter:

A better chance for our children: Based in Wilmington and Milford; focuses on finding families for expecting children, most in foster care and many with special needs. Elizabeth W. Murphey School: based in Dover; accommodates children and young adults ages 8-21; celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2022. Kind To Kids: Based in Wilmington; has served over 17,000 children in foster care and poverty.

Gary Camp, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Dover Motor Speedway, will serve as Executive Director of Speedway Children’s Charities, Dover Motor Speedway Chapter. Camp, who joined Dover Motor Speedway in 2004, oversees the planning and implementation of the track’s marketing and communications efforts, including advertising, media relations, internal and external customer communications and social media.

Dover Motor Speedway’s owning group, Speedway Motorsports, established the first Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) chapter in 1982. Since then, SCC chapters across the United States have raised more than $65 million in grants for organizations who help children.

Friday and Saturday tickets are FREE for children 12 and under (accompanied by a paying adult) at Monster Mile and just $10 on Sundays.

The April 30 NASCAR Cup Series race is the Monster Mile’s 105th NASCAR Cup Series race. Dover Motor Speedway is one of 10 tracks nationwide to host at least 100 NASCAR Cup Series events.
