NHL Rumors: The Bruins and Larkin, and Fits and Comparables for Patrick Kane

Could the Bruins turn to Dylan Larkin after losing to Bo Horvat?

Boston Hockey Now’s Jimmy Murphy: The Boston Bruins were one of three teams in Bo Horvat’s run through this weekend according to a source.

The source added that the Vancouver Canucks liked New York Islanders prospect Aatu Raty more than what they were being offered at the Bruins and other teams. The Islanders’ conditional first-round pick would also be better for the Canucks.

Some scout talk was that the Seattle Kraken and Carolina Hurricanes were the other two teams. A source said the Detroit Red Wings were interested at one point, but not being able to talk about an extension put them out of the running.

NHL Rumors: East Coast to West Coast Speculation

Could the Bruins turn their attention to the Red Wings while waiting for UFA center Dylan Larkin? A source said things are looking good there with Larkin staying with the Red Wings and exploring options. Larkin’s agent Pat Brisson told Detroit Hockey Now the teams have spoken and things aren’t that bad yet.

“I’ll tell you this, we tried to trade him last year and it’s because he’s a player,” the source said. “He would blend perfectly with Bergeron and Marchand at the moment, but he’s only 26 and he still has a lot of games left. I think he’s also a Don Sweeney type player. The two questions are obviously: will he waive the no-trade and give them a chance to extend?
