The basics
The Oklahoma State women’s tennis team (2-1 overall; 0-0 Big 12) is set for a doubleheader starting with a match against Ohio State (3-0 overall; 0-0 Big 10) followed by Michigan (3-0 overall; 0-0 Big 10). The Cowgirls and Buckeyes face off at 5 p.m. (CST) on February 2 in Columbus, Ohio. Two days later, OSU will face Michigan on February 4 at 11 a.m. (CST) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The Cowgirls have three student-athletes ranked in the individual rankings, with runner-up Sofia Rojas earning the highest singles ranking of any Cowgirl as she landed at No. 72, while Alana Wolfberg and Raquel Gonzalez follow at #108 and #121, respectively. .
Series history
Ohio State holds an all-time record of 3-1 against Oklahoma State. The last matchup against the Buckeyes came last year on the 2022 ITA kickoff weekend where Ohio State won 4-1. Oklahoma State is 1-1 all-time with Michigan. The Cowgirls will face the Wolverines for the second time in a week as the Cowgirls were defeated, 4-2, at the ITA 2023 kick-off weekend last Sunday.
Oklahoma State from a distance
The Cowgirls started the spring double season with a 6-1 win over Tulsa. OSU hosted the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Stillwater where the Cowgirls were able to show their depth. OSU went 1-1, ending the weekend with a 4-0 shutout against Oregon. OSU then lost a hard-fought game to 16th-placed Michigan, 4-2, in the championship round. This season, the Cowgirls are returning Ayumi Miyamoto, Sofia Rojas, Alana Wolfberg and Martina Zerulo from last year’s team. OSU has signed Raquel Gonzalez, Amber Hochstatter, Kristina Novak and Lucia Peyre. Cowgirl veterans and newcomers played a significant role in the team’s early success. OSU has set the stage this fall for high expectations in the spring between the four returning and four signings. OSU has six ITA preseason top-25 opponents on this year’s schedule.
