Everything to know about the 2023 CIAA basketball tournament

The 2023 CIAA Tournament will take place February 21-25 at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. This will be the second straight year the tournament has been held in Baltimore. The men’s and women’s championships are held simultaneously.

How the tournament field is selected
The CIAA 2023 tournament includes all 12 CIAA teams. Regular season results determine seeding in the CIAA tournament bracket, which is ranked 1-12 based on conference winning percentage. The tournament is a four-round knockout draw. The top four seeds receive byes to the first round.
In the first round, the #8 seed plays the #9 seed, with the winner advancing to play the #1 seed. The #5 seed plays the #12 seed, the winner advancing to play the No. 4 seed. The No. 6 seed plays the No. 11 seed, the winner advancing to play the No. 3 seed. The No. 7 seed plays the No. 10 seed, with the winner advancing to play the No. 2 seed.
Support does not reseed teams after wins.

The CIAA Tournament will feature numerous festivities and events surrounding the tournament, including but not limited to a fan party, career expo, financial summit, and community service initiatives.
