LIV Golf players are still hoping they can play in the PGA Championship at Oak Hill this year

The 2023 PGA Championship, one of golf’s four major tournaments of the year in the world, will be played at Oak Hills Country Club in just over 100 days, but one major question still arises, LIV Golf players will they be allowed to participate in the tournament?
Given that the dispute arose when several of the biggest names in the sport turned to Saudi-funded LIV Golf, there is uncertainty as to what the immediate future will look like as the new circuit will celebrate its first operation all year.
Last year, LIV Golf players were allowed to play in major US Open and British Open tournaments.
Bryan Karns of the PGA of America said no decision has been made yet, stressing that when they do make a decision he will not be part of it.
“There’s still a lot of pending stuff on that front,” he said, before adding that each major is run independently.
“The majors are all sorts of separate entities. The PGA Tour has its own approach and the majors are all run independently.”
Which golfers left the PGA Tour to play LIV Golf?
Greg Norman took over the management of LIV Golf after being named CEO, managing to attract some of the best and most renowned players in the world like Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Bubba Watson , Louis Oosthuizen, Lee Westwood and many more.
Many of their appearance fees turned out to be more than their entire career PGA Tour earnings, as Dustin Johnson’s $100 million+ contract can prove, which was more than his earnings at the over the years in the United States.
