Bubble Watch: Tracking the Close Race for the Last NCAA Tournament Bids

From now until Draft Sunday (March 12), college basketball teams across the country will compete for a bid for the NCAA Tournament.

36 at-large teams make the tournament, in addition to 32 conference tournament champions who earn an automatic bid.

As Pitt progresses through his season, PSN will track the performance of teams on the “bubble,” meaning teams battling for those last spots out of the 36 general openers in the bracket.

Boise State

Boise State (18-5) defeated Air Force, 59-52.

Maryland

Maryland picked up a big win on Tuesday, knocking out No. 21 Indiana 66-55. The Terrapins are 15-7 on the year.

WakeForest

Wake fell to 14-9 on the year with a 75-73 loss at Duke.

West Virginia

The Mountaineers lost 76-72 to TCU, falling to 13-9 on the year.

Kentucky

The Wildcats defeated Ole Miss 75-66, improving to 15-7.

Texas A&M

Texas A&M lost to Arkansas, 81-70. The Aggies are 15-7 on the year.

Nevada

Nevada took a big win over No. 22 San Diego State, 75-66, improving to 17-6 on the year.

Arkansas

The Hogs beat fellow bubble team Texas A&M, improving to 15-7 on the season.
