Reese Witherspoon Rocks ‘Netflix Red’ For First Streaming Movie With Ashton Kutcher On Netflix

Reese Witherspoon’s next film will take her where other stars have really started to tread: streaming. The actress and producer has her first film role on an upcoming streaming platform (after headlining The Morning Show for Apple TV+ subscribers), and I expected that to be a trend. Netflix once it hits the main streamer. This gig, a new movie called Your Place or Mine, will put her in the spotlight opposite none other than Ashton Kutcher, both known for their romantic comedy work over the years.

Fans will be able to watch the Your Place or Mine streaming this month, and ahead of the Netflix film’s official release, Kutcher and Witherspoon have been promoting the film. This week, she went full-fledged fashionista in a comfy yet chic dress. While some movies Witherspoon has been creatively behind have done well on Netflix, this is actually the first movie she’s starred in for the streamer. So, of course, she chose a “Netflix Red” look.

Sure, Reese Witherspoon almost always looks stunning, but red, to me, also serves a dual purpose. The movie comes out just in time for Valentine’s Day, and fashion trends tend to shift towards clothes in shades of red, pink, and white ahead of this particular holiday. Considering the movie will premiere on Netflix just before Valentine’s Day weekend — or Galentine’s weekend for many women — red is an extremely solid choice.

I’m not the only one to notice it. Artist Cleo Wade wrote on Witherspoon’s post (and edited for capitalization), “It makes for the icon of Valentine’s Day.” Meanwhile, Witherspoon’s pal and Little Fires Everywhere co-star Kerry Washington sent heart (red) emojis.

Reese felt the red dress so much that she even posted a second message. That’s the one Drew Barrymore and others commented on, with the daytime host writing “feel that heat you’re giving off 🔥💥👀” after the actress opened up about the California sun.

Red is a color that Reese Witherspoon is also rocking in her upcoming movie, as the Your Place or Mine trailer also features her in the signature vacation color (among other exciting outfits). There’s been a resurgence in rom-coms lately, and this one seems like someone really excited and ready to hook up — maybe not just for the plot, but for the fashion as well. Here’s hoping that aside from Witherspoon’s style, the film also ends up being one of the great rom-coms of our time.
