ATP Top 10 to play in Dubai & Acapulco next month

The first Grand Slam of the season is over and the first Masters Series event won’t take place until March, but men’s tennis fans will be looking forward to the week of February 27, which features two ATP 500 events, in Dubai and Acapulco, with all of the top 10 men entered to play in either of the two events.

Novak Djokovic, fresh off a 10th Australian Open and a 22nd Grand Slam singles title that took him back to the top of the world rankings, is registered in Dubai, alongside his rival Rafael Nadal (number 6 world) and three other top 10 players, No. 5 Andrey Rublev, No. 7 Felix Auger-Aliassime and No. 10 Hubert Hurkacz.

It remains to be seen whether Nadal will play after his injury struggles in Melbourne, where he was beaten in the second round.

World number one Carlos Alcaraz, who won the US Open in September but missed the Australian Open through injury, will lead the pack in Acapulco. The tournament is the third event on Alcaarz’s calendar for 2023: it returns to Buenos Aires the week of February 13 before playing in Rio de Janerio the following week and then in Dubai.

Joining Alcaraz in Acapulco are No. 3 and Australian Open runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas, No. 4 Casper Ruud, No. 8 Taylor Fritz and No. 9 Holger Rune.

Only three of the world’s top 20 players haven’t played in either tournament – No.17 Jannik Sinner, No.18 Lorenzo Musetti and No.20 Nick Kyrgios, who underwent knee surgery a while ago. two weeks.
