3 NBA Player Prop Bets to Target on Wednesday 2/1/23

Here we will focus on using daily fantasy basketball projections and a host of other tools to help make money betting on player props. For this article, we’re focusing on NBA odds on FanDuel Sportsbook to identify where value can be found tonight.

The prop betting experience at FanDuel Sportsbook just got more fun. You can track your player’s props with real-time updates and easily place props in-game.

Please note that betting lines and our daily fantasy basketball projections may change throughout the day after the publication of this article.

James Harden Over 9.5 assists (-150)

James Harden should have a big night tonight against the Orlando Magic, and I like the most on his assisting prop.

The Philadelphia 76ers have a juicy implied total of 120.0 points, and the Magic sit in 22nd defensive position. Orlando yields the fifth-most assists per night at point guard (9.4), and Harden ranks third in the NBA in potential assists per game over the last 15 games (17.8)

Blowout risk is a concern as the Sixers are home favorites with 9.5 points, despite Orlando coming off a 10-win in that same game on Monday.

We project Harden for 10.7 assists, and I don’t hate Harden for recording a triple-double, which is +700.

Derrick White Under 11.5 points (-112)

Derrick White has a home date with the Brooklyn Nets, and it’s a tough game for him.

The Nets are a solid 11th in defensive rankings, and they’ve stifled the point guards this year, limiting them to 23.3 points per game, fourth-fewest. The Nets (21st in pace) are also a slight slowdown for the Boston Celtics (17th).

The Whites are averaging 10.3 points per game this season. He’s topped that line in three straight games, but prior to this run he had scored 11 points or fewer in 9 of 11 games. He’s only had an 18.1% usage rate this year with Marcus Smart on the ground, per LineupIQ.

Our model has the Whites scoring 10.8 points on Wednesday, and the under bets are on the team I’ll be on.

Dejounte Murray Under 1.5 made three (+120)

It’s a plus-money accessory I can get behind.

Dejounte Murray has really increased his three-point usage since joining the Atlanta Hawks. He takes 5.6 treys per game and boasts a 30.5% three-point attempt rate — both of which are career highs, marking good distance.

But I like his chances of stumbling upon this accessory today much better than the +120 price tag suggests.

Murray has made a three or less in half of his last six games, and his matchup with the Phoenix Suns is not friendly for the three points. The Suns are giving up the fifth-lowest three-point attempt rate (36.2%), and they allow just 8.1 three-point attempts per game to shooting guards, sixth-fewest.

We project Murray right at that line, predicting him to go 1.6 threes on 4.8 tries. If the price of this accessory were equal, I’d stay away, but with the minus at +120 and the plus at -154, the minus is worth a dice roll.
