FEBRUARY 2023
Dear reader,
There’s a lot packed into this little 28-day month. Before giving you an overview, I want to mention that I will be in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, February 18 to discuss the coming year 2023. It is an honor to deliver a keynote address for the 50th anniversary of the Astrological Society of North Texas. Tickets for this fundraising event are $50.00.
Doors open at 8:00 a.m. and my talk will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a break in between to see my new Year Ahead 2023 calendar, which I can sign for you. Those attending the event will have the opportunity to have lunch with me for $12.00 at Cayote Ridge Golf Club directly after the event. (Hurry up, there are a few tickets left). You must attend the event if you wish to attend lunch.

It’s a month divided into two parts: focus on your career first, then allow yourself plenty of time to have fun later. It may be a short month (only 28 days), but it seems to be jam-packed with action. For the past few months, you have been hampered by Mars and Mercury in retrograde. If you have felt like a hamster on a wheel over the past few months, not really progressing or getting anywhere, it was due to these two planets languishing in low energy. Mars, the planet of action, only retrogrades every two years, so you don’t have much experience with out-of-phase Mars. You might be confused as to why everything you did required so much effort and resulted in such meager results. Now that is changing for the better.
Mars began retrograding in Gemini on October 30 and finally went direct last month on January 12. Mercury, Mars’ little brother, goes retrograde three times a year for three and a half weeks. Mercury, which rules all communications and negotiations, went direct last month on January 18. All the planets in our solar system retrograde regularly (not the Sun and the Moon, but they are not planets). No planet instantly goes into full power as soon as it goes direct, so you should always wait and not do any major initiations in the days after the planet goes direct.
Mercury will be back in full force on February 6. Mars will be back in full force on March 15. It is at this time that both planets will be in an ideal form, but every day they are gaining more and more strength. Mars is of particular concern to you because Mars has moved to Gemini, your second financial house, since August 20 and has likely increased your spending. Your efforts to increase your income seemed weak, but that will change. Taurus, hosting Mars in your second house of earned income isn’t easy, but Mars will officially leave this area of your chart when it leaves Gemini on March 25. Keep working to increase your income, dear Taurus, your efforts will start to pay off.
