ETSU Football Adds Eight on National Signing Day

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 1, 2023) – After signing nine during the signing period in early December, ETSU head football coach George Quarles and his team announced they had landed eight more Buccaneers during the Wednesday National Signing Day.
Coach Quarles met with the media to announce the Buccaneers’ signing class.
“We’re excited about this group of signatories – not just because they’re a great group of players – but they’re great people,” Quarles said. “It’s important that we get top players who are used to winning and who do what is asked of them. We have players in this class who are used to winning and playing in state championship games. These guys are hard to beat. We want guys who are going to be winners in our program both on the field and in the classroom, and guys who know what it takes to succeed. Overall, we’ve met many needs, but we’ll always be on the lookout for a few more players who can help make an immediate impact on the program.
This group of eight signatories includes three from Ohio, two from Georgia and one from Tennessee, Louisiana and South Carolina.
The breakdown by position consists of six players on the defensive side of the ball and two attacking players. On defense, there are two linemen, two linebackers and two defensive backs, while the offense brought in includes a lineman and a running back.
