Keke Palmer says name for her baby will be ‘nice’ and ‘neutral’

Without disclosing what it is, Keke Palmer said she and her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, would not name their “only” son.

A few days after she let slip that she was pregnant with a boy, and following the revelation of her portraits of pregnancy and her baby shower on Instagram, Keke Palmer gives us a first look at the name of her future baby.

On a recent episode of her podcast, “Baby, This is Keke Palmer,” the actress discusses the ins and outs of her pregnancy journey so far with her partner, Darius Jackson, and mother, Sharon Palmer. The ‘Nope’ star also chats with TikTok sensation Dr. Ali and ruminates on potential baby names.

Asked about the baby’s possible future name, the first-time mum said she would most likely avoid trendy names and stick with something more “natural”.

“We don’t say the name, but the name for us, it gives American. It gives black Americans a story,” Palmer said, adding, “We’re not aiming for anything too unique. It’s not about to be Stone and Sand. It’s like a beautiful natural [name].”

Early in her relationship with Jackson, Palmer said she started getting jokes from fans, friends and family about naming potential future children after her Nickelodeon character, True Jackson.

“We cannot name the baby True Jackson. It’s too much of a joke. Yeah, that’s too much of a novelty,” she said.

She added that she might try a nod to True Jackson in the pun of her future wedding invitations when it comes time for her to walk down the aisle with Jackson.

Palmer first announced she was pregnant during her opening monologue when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” in December. Since then, the mom-to-be has been busy entertaining fans with her Sims 4 live streams and hosting Meta’s “Are We There Yet?” series, where Palmer brings viewers all the latest in the game.
