Rasmus Dahlin replaces Tage Thompson at NHL All-Star Game

Buffalo Sabers defenseman Rasmus Dahlin heads to the NHL All-Star Game in Florida as he replaces teammate Tage Thompson who was injured against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Thompson, 25, appeared to suffer from the injury in the second period and was not on the bench to start the third. He had a shot on net in 11:16 of ice time before walking away as the Hurricanes won 5-1.
Thompson previously suffered an upper-body injury last weekend against the Minnesota Wild and was absent from practice on Monday.
The Phoenix, Arizona, native is in the midst of a stellar year, scoring 34 goals and 68 points in 50 games this season.
The 22-year-old Swede Dahlin is also having a career year with the Sabers, having recorded a career-high 55 points in 49 games this season. The former 2018 first overall pick has a career-high 14 goals and 41 assists.
The NHL All-Star Skills Competition is on Friday, and the All-Star Game is Saturday at FLA Live Arena.
