Redondo girls soccer wraps up an undefeated Bay League title

The Redondo women’s football team have failed to score any wins against rivals Mira Costa in the first two fixtures of the season.
On Wednesday, the Sea Hawks (13-2-3, 8-0-2) finally secured that elusive, 3-1 victory, wrapping up a second straight Bay League title.
Vailana Tu’ua scored twice and Shannon Davidson added an insurance goal for the Sea Hawks.
Pairings for the CIF-Section Sud qualifiers will be released on Saturday. Redondo is the defending Division 2 champion, but could be in Division 1 this season.
SAN PEDRO 4, GARDENA 0: The Pirates (20-2, 9-0) captured their 18th consecutive Marine League title with this victory.
Molly Skoll scored two goals from free kicks and Mariyah Bumgarner and Gracie Carrasco each scored one.
PALOS VERDES 2, PENINSULA 1: Gabby Alvarez and Maddie Steinbach scored for the Sea Kings (7-7-4, 3-4-3) in the Bay League win. Steinbach’s goal came late in the second half and proved to be the winner.
CHADWICK 4, WESTRIDGE 0: Zoe Stephens scored twice and Miranda Santana had a goal and an assist in the Dolphins’ Preseason League victory (10-3-2, 5-3-2).

REDONDO 2, MIRA COSTA 0: The Sea Hawks’ rival has ruined the Mustangs’ bid for the undefeated Bay League championship.
Tyler Busse and Peyton Bobbitt scored for the Sea Hawks.
PALOS VERDES 3, PENINSULA 2: Ollie Knotek scored the game-winning goal for the Sea Kings (12-6-3, 8-2) in the final minute on an assist from Jack Flanagan.
The goal was Knotek’s 20th goal of the season, breaking Mike Meissner’s single-season record of 19 set in 2010-11.
Knotek also assisted on the other two goals (Flanagan and Luke Nelligan). Flanagan’s two assists give him 17 for the season, one behind Wes Chapman’s single-season record set in 2006-07.
CARSON 3, RANCHO DOMINGUEZ 0: Manny Hernandez scored a pair of goals and Francisco Bravo netted the other in the Marine League win for the Colts (9-3-9, 2-2-5).
WEST TORRANCE 2, NORTH TORRANCE 1: Dane Paulson and Sean Orpe scored to lead the Warriors (8-10-3, 5-5-2) to victory in the Pioneer League.

Bishop Montgomery (25-2, 7-1) and St. Bernard (21-5, 7-1) tied for first in the Del Rey League.
The Knights, led by 15 points from Kelcy Phipps, beat St. Paul 68-28. Xavier Edmonds scored 14 points and hit the 1,000 career point mark for the Knights.
Tyler Rolison scored 24 points to lead St. Bernard (xxx) to a 68-56 win over St. Anthony.
Both teams were on the CIF Southern Section Open Division Watch List.
