Live results and a live stream are available for fans to follow the action.

The Sun Devils, 6-1 for the first time at the start of the season since 2020, are a perfect 5-0 at Whiteman this spring.

NOTABLES OF THE SUN DEVIL

The Sun Devils are ranked 23rd in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Top 25 rankings, marking the fourth straight week they hold a national ranking. The Sun Devils were recently pulled from competition at ITA’s launch weekend in Alabama in a field consisting of No. 15 Auburn, No. 23 UCF and UCSB. The Sun Devils were beaten by the No. 23 Knights in the first round, 4-2, before defeating the Gauchos, 5-0, the following afternoon. Giulia Morlet and Sedona Gallagher have been solid for the Sun Devils on Court 2 in doubles this spring as they have a 5-0 team record to start the season. Pair that with the Court 1 tandem of Domenika Turkovic and Patricija Spaka, the nation’s No.9 ranked pair, and the Sun Devils are a force to be reckoned with in doubles. Rookie Chelsea Fontenel quickly burst onto the scene and settled into Court 3 in singles play. She’s tied with Marianna Argyrokastriti for most wins so far this season (6). Four Sun Devils have achieved individual national rankings in ITA pre-season polls – Giulia Morlet (#69), Domenika Turkovic (#74), Marianna Argyrokastriti (#84) and Sedona Gallagher (# 95).

The Sun Devils were scheduled to host SMU on Friday, Feb. 3 (11 a.m. MST), but weather conditions in the Dallas area prevented the Mustangs from traveling to Tempe.

SAN DIEGO PREVIEW (2-1)

The Toreros are fresh off a scorching performance at the ITA launch weekend in which they upset No. 25 Georgia Tech (4-1) and No. 11 Cal (4-1) of the consecutive days, thereby earning their ticket to the ITA. National Indoor Championships. Three Toreros are ranked in the ITA Top 125 Individual Ranking – No. 29 Solymar Colling, No. 41 Kailey Evans and No. 88 Andjela Skrobonja. Additionally, two USD doubles teams are nationally ranked – t-53 Kailey Evans/Elizabeth Goldsmith and #59 Dariya Detkovskaya/Andjela Skrobonja. The Sun Devils are perfect against the Toreros in their last seven tries, including two last season. Their second and final meeting last spring came in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, a contest in which the Sun Devils won 4-1. The Toreros are led by Sun Devil alumna Nadia Abdala (2010), who is in her first season at the helm of the USD program. She served as San Diego’s staff assistant coach for eight seasons and was the ITA’s Southwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year three times (2015-16, 2018-19 and 2020-21).
