Atlanta Dream Hire Laila Brock as Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Community Impact

The WNBA’s Atlanta Dream today announced the addition of Laila Brock to the front office as the organization’s new Senior Vice President, Community Impact and Strategic Partnerships.

With more than 20 years of experience, Brock’s place leading Dream’s Corporate Partnerships and Community Impact vertical efforts positions her to align the organization’s mission with its business development goals while amplifying the values of the team.

“In building our front office, we knew we needed to look at our structure differently – we’re building a new model here that reflects both the needs of women and the demands we face in an ever-changing sports market,” said declared Dream President. and COO Morgan Shaw Parker. “What we stand for and the majority of the work our organization aims to do is centered around bringing the city, our fans and our team together, and the path to success is through community involvement. Positioning Laila Brock at the intersection of corporate partnerships and community relations – two traditionally disparate departments in the sports world – allows us to bring in the right partners who will stand by us as we focus on the work we have to do.

Merging corporate partnerships with community relations will help the organization be more progressive in serving Dream’s rapidly growing fan base, both local and national partners and the Atlanta community.

“The Dream is committed to using our platform to create meaningful and progressive change and amplify the voices of underserved communities. Combining the power of our business partners with our community-driven mission will help strengthen our efforts to make a positive impact in Atlanta,” Brock said. “We will do more than generate impressions through our corporate partnerships; our goal is to give our partners the opportunity to lead the way for their peers in corporate responsibility. I am truly honored to lead Dream’s efforts in community and corporate partnerships.

Brock brings over 20 years of experience as a sports executive to Atlanta, most recently serving as Vice President of Business Development for JMI Sports. She began her professional career implementing violence prevention, gender equity and racial bias training for student athletes with the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) (now the Institute for sport and social justice). She spent time leading operations and logistics for the Capital One Orange Bowl and the College Football Playoff before entering the corporate partnerships space.
