Cleveland State Golf Teams Picked Fifth in #HLGOLF Preseason Poll Athletics

Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland State men’s and women’s golf teams were each selected fifth in the Horizon League’s preseason poll, announced today by the league office.

The poll was created based on the votes of the coaches of the ten men’s teams and the eight women’s teams that make up the league. The Viking Men received 54 points, finishing behind Purdue Fort Wayne in fourth and just ahead of Youngstown State in sixth. Wright State received all but one first-place vote and finished number one overall.

The CSU Women received 30 points in preseason voting, finishing just ahead of Purdue Fort Wayne in sixth. Youngstown State received four of eight first-place votes from the women’s side to place first overall.

The women’s spring season kicks off this weekend, as CSU heads to the Motor City Classic in Orlando, Fla. at the Rio Pinar Country Club. The tournament begins on Sunday and continues until Tuesday.

The men begin their spring program Monday, Feb. 20, at Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, SC. The schedule ends with the Horizon League Championship Tournament, which will be held on April 24-25 for both teams.
