How did Patrick Reed impress Paige Spiranac?

Before the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open, the city of San Diego was visited by heavy rain. This ultimately led to the first three rounds of the event being played under “lift, clean and place” rules as the balls dug into the wet ground.

On the 10th hole of round three on Saturday, Patrick Reed’s long drive landed in the rough. A nearby volunteer claimed the ball did not bounce, although replays showed it was bouncing. Since the golfer thought the ball was embedded in the green and he was allowed to clear it, he bent down and picked up his ball.

Many questioned the golfer for quickly answering the call before the official arrived. Nonetheless, the PGA Tour official concluded after the round that Reed was correct in his decision to choose the embedded ball. However, fans didn’t accept it as many continued their rant calling the 2018 Masters winner a cheater. Nevertheless, Paige Spiranac came to defend Reed from criticism.

She tweeted, “I will say Patrick Reed makes entertaining golf and I don’t hate it.” Following his tweet, the social media star further expressed his admiration towards other golfers such as Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau for their bold and unabashed style of golf.

“Give me Bryson [De Chambeau]Reed and Brooks [Koepka] s*** talking all day. Hate ’em or love ’em, it’s good for golf. Without a doubt, all three men are talented golfers with much more to achieve in the sport. In a few years, we may see the three stars of LIV Golf make their presence known at the next Majors.
