Gregg Popovich thought Spurs would keep Luka Doncic under 50 points… but the Slovenian star had other plans and went for 51, sealing the 126-125 win with another smart play from the free-throw line with 1.5 second to do:

NBA fans reacted on Twitter to Popovich’s failed guarantee while many others declare Doncic the league’s MVP after his legendary performances over the past five games.

Pop jokingly promised Spurs would keep Mavs superstar Luka Doncic under 50 points tonight. I think what he meant is that they will keep Luka under 50 points in the first half. Luka with 22 in the first quarter, scoring all but 10 points for the Mavs. He also got an assist.
