Many fantasy football owners are having their championship game today – and for some, tons of money may be at stake. But an NFL insider has an idea of how people can reward players who offer a win.

Taking to Twitter, Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News suggested that winners donate a portion of their winnings to charities supported by top fantasy artists. He then published a list of more than two dozen players and the various charities they support.

Unfortunately for Gehlken, it doesn’t look like the move is getting much love. At least not in the comments.

Some fans point out that players earn enough money to be able to donate themselves while others insist that if they lose their fantasy matchups, players should pay them back instead:

“If they lose it for me, will they give some of the money I lost?” a user replied.

“Yes I never understood that rich people and their foundations ask normal people for money. They are rich and can give millions. While we are struggling paycheck,” another wrote.

“They have more money than me. Most of us are struggling,” wrote a third.

It would certainly be a nice gesture, but it seems unlikely that it will end up creating a massive influx of new donations.

It’s a good idea though.
