West Virginia University Moves Down in the NCAA NET Rankings

After falling in overtime against Kansas State on Saturday night in the Big 12 conference opener, the West Virginia Mountaineers fell just two spots to 13th in the latest NCAA NET rankings.

The Mountaineers are now 10-3 on the season and 0-1 in Big 12 play, with just one win in Quad 1* and a 1-3 record against Quad 1 opponents.

Quad 1 wins? pitt. Yes, the rival Panthers are actually bolstering the Mountaineers’ schedule this season. Pitt remains at 70th, moving two places after beating the No. 25 (AP) from North Carolina on the road this weekend. UNC was 29th in the NET and is now ranked No. 32.

West Virginia is one of five teams with just one Quad 1 win in the NET’s top 25: Saint Mary’s (14), New Mexico (18), Indiana (19), and Rutgers (21)

The Mountaineers’ three Quad 1 losses are Purdue, Xavier and Kansas State.

All 10 Big 12 Conference programs are in the NET’s top 50.

The Mountaineers wrap up their two-game road trip with Oklahoma State on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
