Deshaun Watson hasn’t played well this season since returning from his long suspension.
The first half of today’s game against Washington featured another poor showing from Watson. The Cleveland Browns quarterback threw for just 23 yards and was sacked four times in the first two quarters.
Cleveland trails the Commanders 7-3 at intermission, and Watson is taking a lot of heat on social media.
“Deshaun Watson is horrible. He’s 3 of 8 for 23 yards, 2.9 YPA and 4 sacks just tried to throw a pass to his lineman O got flagged for ILLEGAL TACKLING,” Sharp Football Analysis’ Warren Sharp said. . “You can’t make this up.”
“Not too long ago, Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson would have been on the list of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL and right now they’re both terrible,” said Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
“Deshaun Watson ran for 30 seconds and threw the ball to Jack Conklin,” Browns fan Sir Yacht said. “Jack Conklin is a tackle, I hate everything.”
“Deshaun Watson made the Browns even trashier than they really should have stayed with Brissett,” added another fan.
“Deshaun Watson’s contract seems to be worse than Russell Wilson’s lol he was terrible,” another tweeter said.
Obviously, after missing almost two full years of football, some rust was expected from Watson. What he has done in four and a half games so far, however, has been nightmarish.
