The captain of the national amputee football team who is also the coach of the Kwara state amputee football team has praised the executive governor of Kwara state for keeping the promise made to the team after winning the gold medal in the first edition held last year in Abuja.
According to Sarafadeen Olalekan Oyeleke in an exclusive chat with Sportspro News, as a native of Irra in Oyun Local Government Area in Kwara State, he congratulated the Governor for the cash gift and promised to do better with his team as they start another amputee football. event this year.
He specifically thanked the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Magaji, for his leadership role and motivation to continue winning laurels for the state of harmony.
Olalekan Sarafadeen argued that amputee football has reached a high level in the state and the support of its excellence boosts the morale of players to win national and international competitions.
He revealed that the Kwara State Amputee Association, under the leadership of Alhaji Abdulrahman Giwa, the president of the association, and Funsho Zakari (SK Dan-Alhaji), had devised strategies to popularize the amputee game in all local governments in Kwara State. .
He then instructed parents whose children are deformed in the area of a limb or a cut in the hand not to hide their wards but to allow them to take an active part in the game which can bring medals to Nigeria not only in Africa but all over the world.
He stressed the need to encourage disabled amputees to come out and register with the association so that the basics of how to play the game are rolled out to players who are while the amputee association prepare for the busy new 2023 amputee schedule.
